Northeast Delta Dental and New Hampshire Fisher Cats wrap up Oral Health Challenge with record attendance

Northeast Delta Dental and the New Hampshire Fisher Cats wrapped up their 12th annual Oral Health Challenge, a program rewarding good oral health habits with a fun night at the ballpark. Any child who brushed twice and flossed once daily for seven consecutive days and completed and mailed in a program form received two tickets to a New Hampshire Fisher Cats game, courtesy of Northeast Delta Dental. The participants were honored with a pre-game on-field parade and goody bag. The last game on September 14 attracted the highest number of participants, with 471 Oral Health Challenge attendees.

Children and their families attended games on June 15, July 14, August 24, and September 15. Despite a season-long battle with rain, participation in the program remained strong, with a total of 1,468 people coming to the ballpark to reap the rewards of good oral health habits.

“I’m encouraged to see that so many children appreciate the importance of brushing and flossing and that families are supporting these habits,” explained Tom Raffio, President & CEO, Northeast Delta Dental. “Research shows that the earlier children develop good dental care habits, the greater the chance of reducing or eliminating cavities and improving oral and overall health.”

“As an organization committed to family-friendly entertainment, we were proud to help promote an important oral health message for kids,” said the New Hampshire Fisher Cats General Manager Michael Neis. “Thanks to Northeast Delta Dental for this opportunity to give back to our community.”
