The Northeast Delta Dental Foundation awarded the Vermont Department of Health’s Head Start Early Head Start Tooth Tutor Dental Access Program an $84,000 grant for a third consecutive year. This state-wide program communicates effectively to children and their parents that oral health is important, both from the standpoint of preventive at-home care and the need for regular dental office visits.

It is thought of as a luxurious and mostly harmless habit because cigar smokers usually do not inhale the smoke into the lungs. But during Oral, Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Week (April 14 – 20), Delta Dental wants to dispel that notion and warn consumers that smoking cigars regularly may be every bit as harmful to your oral health as smoking cigarettes.

Saco, Maine: Northeast Delta Dental had a self-service kiosk, the Northeast Delta Dental Smile Centersm, built and deployed at The Maine Mall in South Portland, Maine. The kiosk is equipped with two touch screen monitors that enable consumers to take a free oral health risk assessment (OHRA) and be entered into a monthly drawing for an electric toothbrush. In creating the kiosk, it partnered with Wide Angle Marketing, The Maine Mall, and PreViser Corporation.
