Job Purpose:
Assures functionality and efficiency of the DCS2000 system by overseeing the Work Order (WO) process from initial submission by the user to installation into DCS2000 while ensuring the integrity of the system by coordinating in-depth, analytical testing of Work Order fixes. In addition, accepts responsibility for prompt and accurate completion of these processes by coordinating, interpreting, and being the communication liaison between DCS2000 system users and the Information Systems staff.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recommends DCS2000 system fixes and basic enhancements to meet the needs of NEDD by researching and analyzing problems reported by users through Work Order requests. Gathers additional data regarding problem; creates basic Requirements Documentation, as needed. Obtains assistance from Senior Business Analysts for more complex documentation, as necessary. Follows up on problem resolution and informs users of status.
- Assures prompt and accurate completion of WO requests and assigned basic SERs by serving as liaison between the users, developers, IS, and DSI at NEDD. Serves as an expert for all functions of the DCS2000 system by maintaining knowledge of all department modules and procedures; provides technical assistance for users.
- Improves functionality of DCS2000 system by coordinating quarterly Production Turnovers and weekly installations where fixes are loaded into the system. Works with department managers to assign Work Orders to the Production Turnovers according to priority. Assures thorough testing of Work Orders before production turnover implementation by developing and implementing creative test cases; develops solutions to problems working with staff and management while performing test cases. Updates Information Database (Source Forge) with any changes to Work Orders during the Production Turnover process.
- Ensures the integrity of the DCS2000 system post-Production Turnover by assisting with the coordination of the “checkout” or testing process. Assures testing is complete and fixes are accurate by obtaining sign off for Production Turnover items by the assigned departmental staff.
- Assists users and developers with the creation of Ad Hoc reports by identifying user's needs and communicating those needs to the developers. Ensures Ad Hoc reports meet the criteria originally outlined by proofing the reports and following up with users to verify report is as requested. Updates Source Forge with user feedback.
- Administers the Business Support Unit e-mail box by responding to e-mails from internal and external customers. Ensures quick access and easy reference to information by creating and maintaining folders within the e-mail box.
- Assists in determining work priority of SERs by actively participating in TAG Meetings; brings forth all newly submitted SERs for TAG review; works with the management team to determine TAG priority; provides responses for users concerning questions that come forth in TAG review; manages the TAG priority spreadsheet.
- Educates users on DCS2000 system processes after identifying user issues through Work Order analysis; trains users on correct processes; documents procedure for future reference.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field, plus at least two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of training, experience, and/or education.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
