Northeast Delta Dental Annual Report

Reducing Environmental Impact

Northeast Delta Dental actively seeks ways to reduce its environmental impact, often saving money in the process. Our sense of corporate responsibility includes a belief that reducing any negative impact that we could have on the environment helps everyone—our business, and everyone with whom we share our planet’s limited natural resources.

RAM Printing in Hampstead, New Hampshire is the company we trust to print our annual report. One of the proudest moments in RAM Printing’s 30-year history was receiving the Forest Stewardship Council Chain-of-Custody Certification from the SmartWood Program of the Rainforest AllianceTM in 2006—the first commercial printing company in New Hampshire to achieve certification.

The paper Northeast Delta Dental chooses for its annual report is manufactured by Monadnock Paper Mills in Bennington, which has operated since 1819. Monadnock Paper Mills produces premium, high performance papers using sustainable product design and manufacturing processes. By using an FSC certified printer and paper, and doing business locally, Northeast Delta Dental saved:

343 pounds of solid waste NOT produced (equivalent to eight full trash bags)

3,748,518 BTUs of energy NOT consumed (equivalent to powering 1,098 100-watt light bulbs for 24 hours)

3,363 pounds of wood saved (equivalent to saving 12 trees)

1,047 net pounds of GHG CO2 NOT produced (equivalent to 19 barbeque propane cylinders)

5,412 gallons of wastewater NOT produced ( equivalent to 21 dunk tanks of water)

457 pounds of carbon emissions NOT produced in the manufacturing process (equivalent to emissions from 0.5 barrels of oil)
